Local creative agency, TwentyTen launches crowd funding for youth project.
The project , Music is Life, is aimed at helping address growing concern for mental health issues with young people by helping them build confidence, employability and social skills. It is hoped that the eight week course will be run in Inverness, Dingwall and Elgin.
“The range of the things that they [Birchwood Highland: Music is Life participants] are learning through the course. They are learning all sorts of skills including communication, organisation, listening, leadership skills, putting forward ideas and suddenly their confidence will be built up by the fact they have actually participated in something. It just a wonderful thing for them to achieve” Emily Stokes – Chief Executive Birchwood Highland
Steve Robertson , Managing Director of TwentyTen, explains the aims of the project and the importance of community support “We know that people in the Highlands are concerned for young people in their community and this project aims to do something positive to help. We hope that people and businesses in the area will share our passion to help change young people’s lives.”
As such the organisation is calling out for support in their goal through crowdfunding which comes with a series of rewards for the general public and businesses alike that include a range of creative incentives including the opportunity to be a roadie for a day to a business aimed sponsorship package.
