Groove Loch Ness announce Leftfield as special guest for the August dance event.
Leftfield came to the attention for the sublime album ‘Leftism’ which was released over twenty years ago and described by Clash as “a landmark in dance music. Perhaps the first successful, fully formed album from the genre, which remains a classic of the era and inspiration for many who followed”. With Neil Barnes retaining the reins their third and most recent album ‘The Alternative Light Source’ shows that despite being a man down, Leftfield has retained it’s dynamism and continues to win plaudits.
They are of course no strangers to Dores, having played Rockness in 2010 and Groove will see Leftfield perform a DJ set. Also added to the bill are DJ & Producer Clyde Rouge who previously opened the stage for Groove Cairngorm,Van D and Aberdeen based Rondeau.
Festival founder Dougie Brown said ‘We are delighted to announce Leftfield as our special guests, there is no arguing the impact they have had on the electronic music world and their set is guaranteed to be a highlight of the festival’
Withe Groove LochNess proclaiming itself as ‘Scotland’s nightclub under the stars’ has already announced an additional stage this year which is just as well given the one day event has already announced Duke Dumont, Alexander Ridha, Mark Knight, Optimo, Camelphat, Leon Vynehall, Dan Shake, Moxie, State of Grace, Craig Cartel, Hector’s house and more…
