Interview with Eton Messy ahead of their performance at Groove Cairngorm.
For the uninitiated, Eton Messy may conjure images of the upper class pudding to the initiated and informed Eton Messy are a trio of influential trend makers in electronic music.
Rapidly evolving from a YouTube channel that captured their musical tastes in a way no one else was doing to now include record label, promoting and Djing. We caught them ahead of their Cairngorm gig.
Just watched the video of your ‘Presents’ Tour, it looked amazing, what were your highlights of the tour for you?
Too many to choose from! Going back to Bristol is always a highlight though.
How are you feeling about your trip up North?
I think it’s fair to say I have never been this far north before. I always like exploring new places, so I’m looking forward to it.
What are the key elements that makes a good set for you?
Every set is different but it’s always important to have a great crowd. Without that you can be left in a sticky situation!
In your DJ set , what are the tracks that you most enjoy playing at the moment?
Has to be the exclusives that we have. There are a few tracks that we have signed that we are testing crowds out with at the moment. Its always great seeing the crowd respond to songs that aren’t out there yet.
Your passion for music was initially seen through YouTube , how do you see the evolution of social media since you started the channel in 2011?
Social media is fundamental in the Music scene these days. Apart from actually performing, it’s the frontline in getting your messages across to the fans.
Eton Messy seems to be always evolving, what’s next for you?
Well as I mentioned earlier, we have a few tracks that we have signed on the label so looking forward to them seeing the light of day and seeing what everyone else thinks of them!
