A strong line-up announced for March out of the Church Street Hip Hop Night.

Following December’s last outing for the regular Mad Hatter’s night, which saw Ryza, Andrew Mackenzie, DJ Butterscotch and Sherbit showcase their talents, March brings a return of the night.

The local area will be represented by Echo a 22 year old MC/rapper from Dingwall, who was a member of Autumn Sun before a parting of the ways, the band had earned slots at festivals including Belladrum, Jocktoberfest and North Hop.

We caught up with Echo about the forthcoming gig;

This will be my first gig this year and I’m excited to say the least ! I’ll be performing new material and finally performing some tracks from the joint EP “Something For Everyone” with Snow. I’ve been dying to get back on stage since leaving Autumn Sun and im glad to finally be back and i cant think of a better place to start other than the place where it all started in the first place MAD HATTERS !! I’m Looking forward to hearing the other sets and meeting some new people.

Shelltoe Mel, known as part of Flying Jalapenos Crew, will be DJing and performing some Power Moves and “reppin the only way she knows how”. Also on the bill is Respek BA who has been on the scene for nearing twenty years, in a career that has seen him open for acts such as Jurassic 5, Goldie Looking Chain and DJ Shadow. He will be joined on the stage by Big Div. We have been told to expect a banger of a set.

The night will be hosted by Brian Jamieson who will also performing on the night, with the promise of new material.

Church Street Hip Hop Night will next be held on the 11th of March at Mad Hatters, Inverness. Free Entry.
