No trimming the Fat

Fat-Suit play Ironworks in December.

Heralded as “The future of Scottish jazz/music” Stephen Duffy of BBC Radio Scotland added “[that] with young musicians like that (so engaging, so talented, embracing of old traditions and new) is in very very good hands indeed..I absolutely love it”.

Believing in the adage “strength in depth” and larger than a football team, Fat-suit’s stage busting 14 piece out fit features winners of the Young Jazz Musician and Young Traditional Musician of the Year competitions.

Promising “to entertain as much as it is to dazzle with technical ability”, the group are keen to find there own way evolving from their influences which include Snarky Puppy, Vulfpeck and GoGoPenguin.

For the 5 date Scotland tour they will be joined by Angus Munro who they collaborated with on the imminent EP release ‘Rubix’.

Also on the bill and marking their last gig in the area for 2015 and topping off what can only be described as an exceptional year for them, are Spring Break. The SAMA winning, Bowers & Wilkins promoting, T in the Park playing band it’s surprising they even managed to release their “confident and assured” debut EP.
