Hit the Road for the last time in ’15

Three Singer-song writers to be showcased in the final Hit the Road event of 2015

Hit the Road, a project run by the Scottish Music Centre and supported by the Youth Music Initiative that gives young performers the opportunity to learn more about performing and touring, has prestigious alumni including Man of Moon, Island Record’s Model Aeroplanes and KLOË.

The project will host it’s final tour of the year in October, calling in at Kinloss, Stirling and Glasgow and taking with it representatives of each area.The three acts are;

Shanine Gallagher , who is also a member of Chainsaw Tea Party, is a young musician from Ardnamurchan in the North West Highlands, who performed at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, whilst also playing King Tut’s, Tiree Music Festival and Best of the West in her aforementioned band.

Cameron Roxburgh who is joined with school friend Callum Cronin on double bass have recently released debut EP ‘Meliorism’ and have found themselves sharing billing with the likes of Randolph’s Leap and Finn LeMarinel.

Michiel Turner is a 19-year-old singer songwriter from Forres in Moray.We last saw him play at Belladrum 15 where our reviewer commented “It is a voice that belongs to somebody well beyond his years with depth and strength comparable to the likes of Ray LaMontagne.”
