A preview of the Insider’s Strathpey Safari in August.
After it nearly became a second year without an Insider Festival in Aviemore the wonderful folks behind it have set in place a plan to delighted their followers by creating exciting and an even more intimate event for just 180 lucky pioneers.
Normally held on Inschriach Estate, The Insider Festival which has had Admiral Fallow, Woodenbox, Stanley Odd, Randolphs Leap, Olympic Swimmers and State Broadcasters on its stages in past years, will this time loaded with Insider inspiration chug into Aviemore making the Old Bridge Inn (OBI) its hub. From there it will take explorers on a Steam Train Safari, meandering through the stunning highlands on the beautiful Strathspey locomotive to discover lands far far away.
On Saturday 22nd of August the adventurers will hop on board a magical mystery train, stopping at highland beauty spots for music and refreshments before being whisked off at night for a Village Hall Safari Ball. With faith and only an overview of the weekend inquisitive travellers handed their pennies over to Crowd Funder to guarantee this event got out of the station.
Meeting their initial target of £2,500 within 6 hours and it was full steam ahead for the organisers finalising their still slightly secretive plans.
Although the train adventure is Saturday the weekend will starts on Friday for some, with nice food and music to most defiantly warm thing up at OBI from Hector Bizerk, local favourites Spring Break and local DJ’s. The main event is the next day with the stop off locations and some of the acts still top secret. We do know that Babe, Fat Suit, Pronto Mama, Brass Gumbo, Wire & Wool and DJ Duncan Harvey will be amongst the fabulous line up filed with brass and horns, jazzy fushion, Scottish folk music and much more.
Guests are encouraged to dress the part and given the effort and detail the Insider team put into their enchanted experiences, it would be rude not to try. I wonder how many will still be wearing them at the recovery session on Sunday at the OBI, it could be a very interesting morning in Aviemore.
It’s defiantly set to be a wild time and with just a few tickets left if you’re as fast as a cheetah you could still join the Insider Safari. For those of you with a ticket you can get a little fancy and upgrade your experience to include Afternoon Tea on the tracks until Monday 17th, mmmm.
