May will see a multi-venue music event to raise funds for Nepal.
A host of Highland musicians and DJs will come together later this month for a city-wide night of music to raise funds for those affected by the Nepal earthquake.
The Market Bar will include singer/songwriters from the local area including Iain McLaughlin, Sarah Williamson, Ross Holland and Dr. Wook whilst Mad Hatters at Hootananny will have local bands Woodentooth, Sara Bills & The Has-Been, Spring Break, Rabbit Punch, Silver Coast and The Leonard Jones Potential giving their time for the cause.
The event will kick off with an acoustic open mic hosted by Dr Wook at 6pm at Starbucks in the Eastgate Centre prior to the concerts at the other stated venues, local singer/songwriters are welcome to come along and perform at this.
Local singer-songwriter Kris Douglas and one of the organisers of the event said “I put a suggestion out on social media and was inundated with offers from other musicians to play and from venues and promoters keen to help out and get involved. I had seen the images from Nepal and like many others I just wanted to try to do something to help all those whose lives have been turned upside down by the earthquake. We may be many thousands of miles away but we hope the money raised can bring some comfort to those affected.”
Updates for the event will appear on the Facebook page.
