After an outbreak of #jointhegroove it has been revealed that a dance based one day event will be held on the previous Rockness site.

Groove Loch Ness promises to go back to the origins of Rockness which of course started off as a dance festival (acts such as  Slam, Mylo, Carl Cox joined headliner Fatboy Slim for the first event in 2006).

Groove Loch Ness will be headlined by Groove Armada who were described as “a near unimpeachable dance phenomenon” by Clash magazine.  This will be a Scottish festival exclusive for the London based electronic music duo who were recently also announced as playing this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival. Groove Armada  have of course played Rockness on a couple of occasions, most recently in 2011, but under a new impetus we suspect that the headline act will be something very special.

David & Stephen Dewaele better known under their stage name 2 Many DJs also on a Scottish Festival exclusive are set to bring their electrifying performance to the festival, having proved themselves to be firm favourites in clubs and festivals throughout the UK.

Other DJs to feature in the initial announcement include Radio 1’s B.Traits, Subculture founders and residents Harri & Domenic from SUB CLUB, Glasgow’s world-renowned electronic music venue. Inverness’ own purveyors of all things underground house, techno and electro Filth DJ’s will be making an appearance and finally are the Highland’s newest club night Fugazy with further acts to be announced in the near future.

The festival promises; “One night, one stage, one helluva party – Scotland’s most iconic dance festival location is being brought back to life with the launch of Groove Loch Ness.”

One of the organisers, Dougie Brown added; ‘We have the most spectacular location for a festival, along with some legendary DJs and Scottish talent, and some surprises still to come, all we need now is the sunshine!’

The event will be held on the 22nd of August at Clune Farm, you can find more details of the festival at their website. Buy tickets NOW.
