Be Like Pablo at Rockness

With Glachbeg celebrating it’s tenth year (see more about the work that happens at the croft here), Croft Music have certainly worked hard to bring together a line-up which will aid the celebrations.

Last year the festival/event debuted with The Lorelei joining the likes of Bite Night and Ivan Drever to create a feel good vibe not dissimilar to the atmosphere of the Glachbeg Croft Folk Club’s stage at Belladrum.

This year the acts are equally as diverse. Something, Someone. are a Clackmannanshire/Glasgow-based indie- folk trio who recently played the Glachbeg Folk club, whose influences include Eddi Reader, Rachel Sermanni, Laura Marling and The Staves.

Synth-driven, sunshine, power pop of Be Like Pablo make a very welcome return to  the local music scene and will no doubt bring the festival cheer, regardless of the weather.

Dougie Burns makes a return to the event, but this time round is bring his Cadillacs with him with blues/rock also being represented by the three piece Black Dog. They will be joined by the reformed Talking Point who in their past have been billed above The Proclaimers.

Jim Kennedy in his other role as lead singer for Rhythmnreel

Folk band Old Bohemia recently sold out King Tuts for the launch of their EP, ‘Enoch’ who will be joined by another folk band in the Highlife Highland Adult Traditional group aka TMC Folk.

Quoting a diverse list of influences including Twin Atlantic, Rise Against, and Muse Inverness based Sly at Last will also be playing, so too Atlas, who have recently supported The LaFontaines.

A wrath of singer songwriters will be playing, including two popular local based lead singers going it alone for the occasion in  Aaron Murray and Jim Kennedy of Silver Coast and Rhythmnreel respectively.

Finishing off the line up are Susanna Wolfe, Love Ancients, Tom & Don, Jake Cameron, Ruth Gilles, Jo Wilson and Corralach.
So get in  the festival mood and get over to help support a great charity and growing event.

The entry of the event will be by donation with profits this year going to Children 1st.

Details of the event can be found here.
