The heart of the Highlands will come alive with the sound of some of the Highlands’ top bands and entertainment in October in a major charity event to raise money for Scotland’s children living in poverty.
Fresh from the launch for their respective EPs will be Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders, and double-denim rockers Bite Nite as well as renowned Western Isles singer Willie Campbell, who will be performing before taking to the Ironworks with a full band show later in the month.
Dance and musical performances will be on offer through the day from Eden Court Performing Arts, TFX, KC Dance Crews, Performers UK, Nicky Mackay Step N Stylerz and Trapeze Entertainment.
Children’s ‘character’s will also be popping along to take part in the fun, courtesy of Mascot Madness, who will offer face-painting, making a donation to the Appeal.
The day will be finished off in style with a performance from the Inverness British Legion Pipe Band in full Highland dress.
Nicola McAlley (co-organiser with Netsounds) “This is the second year we have organised Songs In The City and we are thrilled that Eastgate Centre is allowing us to host it in Falcon Square once more. Last year our volunteers raised over £2, 000 in street collections on the day, with money going to youth groups across our region. We hope people of all ages will come along to enjoy the brilliant musical entertainment and have fun while helping such a worthy cause.”
The event is being supported by the nvaluable support of CMPS, Limelights Events Services, North of Scotland Marquees, Mascot Madness, Badgetastic and Eastgate.
The event takes place on Saturday October 4, from 11am – 5pm.
