2010 Management with Birchwood Highland are launching an innovative project to promote mental health.
The project is giving people with a background of mental ill health the opportunity to organise a night of live music with local bands at Hootananny on the 30th of October as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival.
With the support of 2010 Management, participants of the project will organise every part of a night of live music including booking bands, promotion, and working with sound engineers and graphic designers.
The concept is described as an excellent opportunity for people of all ages with experience of mental ill health , including participants of Birchwood Highland, HUG and Aspire 2 Be, to come together and work with creative people in the community and engage with the music community in Inverness and beyond in a positive way.
“We’re very appreciative of the learning opportunities and experiences that this project will provide to the individuals taking part.” said Emily Stokes-Reid (Chief Executive, Birchwood Highland) adding that ” It will be fantastic to see the end result and we hope the local community will support the event and show their interest in mental health awareness.”
