Jfest Folk 07 300x195 - Jocktoberfest 2014 to start selling ticketsDubbed the “Greatest Scottish Beer festival in the world”, the event has previously played host to bands such as Washington Irving, Toby Michaels Rolling Damned and The LaFonatines.

2013 saw acts such as Casual Sex and Woodenbox mix with local talents such as The Leonard Jones Potential, Ashley and the Cosmonauts and Dylan Tierney (see review here). This year the festival will se 30 acts play over two stages. The initial announcement of who will be playing 2o14 will be announced on the 26th of May.

With last year’s theme of Land Girls being enthusiastically embraced by festival goers, the festival looks for inspiration from the Wild West .

David Gladwin (Black Isle Brewing Co) enthusiastically hollered “Yeehaa! Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’, to all cowgirls and cowboys out there saddle-up, put yours spurs on, and ride out to the Black Isle for a weekend of beer, bands, vittles, love and kissin’, ride ’em in Rawhide!”

Tickets are priced at £30.00 (free entry for under 13s) and available via www.jocktoberfest.com

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
