The Eagle shows it’s Darkside

A long time ago (well 2007)  in a galaxy far far away ( ok, London), Darth Elvis & The Imperials debuted at the first Convention Europe.

DARTH ELVIS AUGUST 2ND 212x300 - The Eagle shows it's Darkside
Best gig poster ever sent to Inverness Gigs

The band, the answer to the question what happens if you cross an Elvis tribute band  with the Dark Side (seriously you have never asked that question?), provide a unique mixture of rock n roll, comedy & outlandish performances.

The band according to their bio are “Available for weddings, movie wrap parties (Hint hint), conventions, cantinas you name it!” .

And perhaps the timing of the gig could not be better with the recent announcement of the cast for Star Wars 7 being announced.

However it is hard to take a band such as Darth Elvis & The Imperials seriously and that’ seems to be the key for the band.

Expect more Star Wars and music themed shenanigans since when Weird ‘Al’ Yankovic gave American Pie an inter galactic vibe (you have not listened to ‘The Saga Begins‘ ? sort that out!).

Darth Elvis & The Imperials play The Eagle on Saturday August 2nd and please check out their website it’s well worth a visit.

The question has to be who is going to be support for the band on the night, any suggestions….

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
