The Ragazzi launch their 4 track EP ‘Conversation Killer’ on the 21st of April.

RagazziThe four piece band from Dingwall and surrounding areas describe their music as “driving, furious at times, reverb soaked punk” and draw influences from The Vaccines, however with Dean Morrisson’s vocals there is more than a touch of Neil Hannon or Alex Kapranos.

The four track ‘Conversation Killer’opens with ‘I’m Not Your Man’ which is fantastic festival fodder creating strong hooky choruses and boppy instrumental sections.

With a blink and you’ll miss it 2 minute odd run time, there is an addictive summery feel to the track that deserves airplay (albeit with an edit or two).

‘The Game’ allows for the emphasis to be moved (at least slightly) away from Dean’s vocals and acts as perhaps a contrast to the poppy nature of the other tracks.

Third, and title, track has a slower build up but with a satisfying pay off. The pace of ‘Whatever I Want’ is upped as the EP finishes with a flourish with it’s observation laiden lyrics

Indeed “No thoughts just actions” go the final song’s lyrics and perhaps nothing can be further from the truth for this EP, a well packaged showcase for the band.

I bet your still singing “I’m not your man” though.

The EP will be released and available to purchase on all online retail outlets on Monday the 21st of April, details will be available on The Ragazzi’s Facebook page.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
