The Comedy Bothy debuts at The Bothy on Friday the 2nd of May.
Following on from the success of Carnivale, The Bothy will be used to bring the funny in what is the start of a series of comedy slots at the venue.
Seven comedians will take to the stage including three who are Glasgow based; Aldis Hamilton and Emily Rain aka ‘Carrot and Curls’ are “two of Glasgow’s newest and hottest (even if they do say so themselves) female comedians.” They will be joined in the trip up the A9 by Michael Holligworth.
Martin Bannon who must be one of the few that can put “used to be Jesus” on his CV will be joined by fellow local comics Steve Scott, Donnie Shovlin and Kieran Lochore.
Proceedings will be “managed” by compere Conor O’Hara who had previously played host at the Carnivale events.
Conor said of the event “You’ve got places like the Comedy Store in London and and the Comedy Cellar in Dublin, so we decided that the Comedy Bothy was appropriate. Hey, we might end up doing a Highland tour playing in actual bothies. Happy to hear from anyone about that, especially if they have a secret whiskey still.”
The Comedy Bothy is free and starts sharp at 8pm.
