After the sellout success of 2013 The Wickerman Festival returns for their 13th year with this year’s lineup looking like it could be as diverse as ever.

Dizzee Rascal is the first headliner to be announced and he will bring Friday night to a close on the main stage. The artist, who is credited for cementing Grimes  position in pop culture, will certainly help end the first day on a high.
He takes with him a decent back catalogue of singles to choose from, including his second number one and guaranteed bounce along ‘Bonkers’. His most recent album “The Fifth” was summarised in The Guardian review; “It isn’t art, but it is a hit-packed, goofy album that may prove impossible to dislike.”
Indeed, Dizzee certainly appears to boldly stand out in a list of previous headliners that has included James. Texas and Ocean Colour Scene, and whilst some people may think it’s bonkers….
Also on the main stage are soft rock/popsters The Feeling, hits include ‘Love It When You Call’, ‘Fill My Little World’ and ‘Never Be Lonely’. Renowned for their crowd pleasing sets, Â the previous Brit nominees, released their fourth album ‘Boy Cried Wolf’ last year .
Sixties RnB act Martha Reeves and The Vandellas  will be part of Martha’s tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of their biggest hit, ‘Dancing in the Street’.They will be joined by fellow sixties survivors The Zombies. Continuing their recent run of live gigs, the recently reformed Big Country.
Holding the flag for new music, in the current announcement, are Finding Albert and, “Best Newcomers” at the 2014 Scottish Alternative Music Awards, Â Model Aeroplanes.
Located near Dundrennan in Dumfries and Galloway, The Wickerman Festival is on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th July. Weekend camping tickets are a very reasonable  £105 with kids under 12 going free. Wickerman 2014 tickets.
