An eclectic list of acts announced for the Winter Showcase 2014 to be held on Sunday the 29th of December.

Borrowing from previous year’s format, eight acts will play, with four on the main stage and four on the acoustic stage.

The acoustic stage will see Dr. Wook  (aka Kris Douglas) fresh from fronting The Whiskys in their support of Alabama 3 at the Ironworks. Under his Dr Wook guise there is a greater emphasis on his musicianship creating a far more intense experience, as experienced at his last solo gig at Strathpeffer Pavillion.

Another lead singer seeking out a solo identity is Leonard Jones Potential’s Meeshelle , having released debut single ‘Take the Time’ in October. The launch gig at The Village  showcased he technical ability and versatility where she managed covers of  ‘Get Lucky’ and ‘Lovesong’. See her website for more updates.

Also on the acoustic stage bill are founding members of alternative/country band Lush Rollers, Willie and Tabs Macaskill and last on the bill Trosg a side project of the Inverness Gaelic choir.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
