Sienna wins Fans

A review of Sienna, at amaSing on Sunday 1st September, 2013.

Sienna 1

Travelling all the way from Kinross, Sienna hit the stage in fearless mode and made quite an impact. Energy and presence aplenty, despite being a man down they wowed the audience with an energised set that coalesced around folk rock influences tinged with some Americana.

Sienna 4

An acoustic bias with a strong vocal performance they were, for an audience this far north, one of the finds of this festival and testimony as to why amaSing has been so important.

Sienna 3

I’m guessing these guys made more than a few friends and connections and surely must be due an invite for a return visit to the area – and the sooner the better. Well worth catching live and their EP is certainly worth checking out.

Roddy McKenzie
Life-long engagement with music and a truly eclectic taste (although prog-rock and metal will usually have me scrambling for the off button). If pushed, I would have to say the Velvet Underground are one of the most important band’s of all time. Although I consider myself first and foremost a photographer, as regards reviewing I guess I cut my teeth in the vibrant fanzine scene of the 80’s. Around the same time I started taking photographs and, to be brief, performance and photography were made for each other: perfect match.
