Fash Stewart 399x600 - Fash brings the smiles

Quite simply, Fash Stewart is a singer song-writer who has an endearing and enduring love of country music. There is a wonderful tension at play in his set in that he delivers dead-pan and in a deep melodic and serious voice, some extremely funny lines. Very few people stop listening at a Fash Stewart performance.

The Crystal House might not be a huge venue, but the room was full for this performance and a quick scan of the room reveals some familiar faces. To the point, Fash has a fan club, and deservedly so. If you haven’t caught up with Fash Stewart before now then it shouldn’t be too difficult, he is busy. So find a gig and get along – trust me you’ll want the t-shirt.

Life-long engagement with music and a truly eclectic taste (although prog-rock and metal will usually have me scrambling for the off button). If pushed, I would have to say the Velvet Underground are one of the most important band’s of all time. Although I consider myself first and foremost a photographer, as regards reviewing I guess I cut my teeth in the vibrant fanzine scene of the 80’s. Around the same time I started taking photographs and, to be brief, performance and photography were made for each other: perfect match.
