Quite possibly the ‘greatest Scottish beer festival in the world’ Joctoberfest rolls out their strong line-up for their boutique festival, taking place on the 6th and 7th September.
Joctoberfest 2013, have announced a further tranche of acts to play the festival including Woodenbox, Steve Eaglesham and Ashley and the Cosmonauts.
Woodenbox are set to storm Jocktoberfest with their unique blend of rock, blues and a dash of jazz. The dynamic sextet have been accumulating positive reviews and more importantly a dedicated fan base with their raucous live shows.Local talent Dylan Tierney has just had roaring success with his set at Bella earlier this month and he is set to continue his streak at Jocktoberfest. His self penned heartfelt songs have an incredible depth to them which will leave you swooning.
Josephine Sillars is an accomplished Pianist who will bring her brand of quirky music to Joctoberfest. Conjuring up comparisons of an early Regina Spektor,Josephine is sure to wow the crowds with her delicate pure vocals and her ironing board, as she did in her recent Summer Showcase gig.The phenomenal ceilidh band Hoodja will take their self-branded ‘folk-step’ to the stage. These boys are sure to have another triumphant set on the back of their magnificent Bella performance.
For someone so young Megan Blyth’s lyrics are dripping with maturity. Blyth has already received rave reviews for her shows throughout Scotland, and with her new EP Devil’s Own nearly ready to go, don’t miss her at Jocktoberfest. The marvellous four piece Ashley and the Cosmonauts’ emotive yet funky little numbers, as on show at Belladrum 2013, will have everyone in a crazed frenzy of dancing. However its their rare depth to them that never fails to impress the crowds. The “Pagans Poet’s” Steve Eaglesham also takes to the festival. Eaglesham’s raspy vocals will send shivers down your spine whereas his storytelling lyrics will give you a glimpse of his vulnerability.
Jamie Marshall will be showcasing his political stance wrapped in a fresh yet traditional sound in his set. Also added to the line up are All Hat No Cat,a cutesy offbeat duo consisting of Adrian on guitar and Lucy on her flute. These two have perfected the art of playing charismatic story telling folk music.Bringing a slice of retro chic to Jocktoberfest is A Clockwork DJ,a DJ service which will be delivering some of the 1940’s best music all on original 78’s.
Tickets for the brew-tastic festival are still available from Jocktoberfest.com.
