A recent competition to win entry to the final battle drew entries from throughout Scotland and Europe. The final decision was made in collaboration between public feedback and a panel of judges including Matt Lyon of Ruckus, Foley Bear of Karma Lounge and locally renowned DJ Alottarhythmman with additional input from Phunk Investigations themselves.

Event organiser Matt Lyon says: “The aim of the competition is to promote the underground music scene in the Highlands by opening it up to new people and giving fresh talent a great opportunity to get a foot on the ladder. To support internationally acclaimed DJ’s “Phunk Investigation” will be an invaluable and exciting experience for the winner.”

The six finalists are : Ziggy Gee, Neil Fleming, Yoni Banks, Ryan Wallace, Marc Hilton and Smash N Grab.

The competition will commence at 9pm and revellers can expect a night of house, techno and tech-house tunes, with the winners being decided on the night.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
