Funeral for a Friend to play Ironworks , Inverness for the first time since 2008 on the 19th of June.

The Welsh band, in it’s twelve years and with it’s six albums, has not lost it’s edge and has established themselves as champions of Post-Hardcore with tracks that include ‘Roses for the Dead’, ‘History’ and ‘Streetcar’.

Indeed  their sixth, and latest, album ‘Conduit’ was described as “full of quality, from great riffs to infectious drum beats, to powerful choruses.” easy to see, especially with tracks such as  ‘Best Friends and Hospital Beds’ and ‘Nails’.

The recent addition of former Rise to Remain drummer, Pat Lundy to their ranks a move not gone unmissed by the critics “he propels these songs [from Conduit] with a youthful, aggression”.

With a massive line-up of gigs planned for the summer to promote the album, it promises to be a cracking night.

Tickets available via Ironworks on the 15th of March.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
