Donnie Munro embarks on an acoustic tour of Scotland this spring and will play the Eden Court on Wednesday 27th March and the Spa Pavillion in Strathpeffer on Friday the 12th April.
After leaving Runrig in the mid nineties and spending time as a politician (he stood for Labour against Charles Kennedy in the 1997 General Election) and broadcaster he returned to the studio in 1999 and embarked on a solo career that has so far spanned 4 studio albums and 3 live albums.
Whilst he didn’t return to the same heights he reached with Runrig he remains a respected and much liked musician. 2006’s ‘Heart of America’ won the Album of The Year award at the Trad Music Awards in Fort William that same year. An unashamed proponent of Scottish culture he’s been heavily involved at Sabhal Mor Ostaig on Skye and he’s currently chair of the Gaelic and Scots digitisation project ‘Tobar an Dualchais/Kist O’ Riches’
