One half of 1990′s British rave duo Altern-8, Mark Archer comes to Karma Lounge, Inverness on the 16th of February, 2013.

As Altern 8, along with Chris Peat, he  had top ten hits with “Activ 8” and “Evapor 8”  together with their iconic chemical warfare suits and  facemasks they helped define the rave scene of the early nineties. As retro blog, Expletive Deleted, described “If you live in the UK, you’re of a certain age and you haven’t ever totally lost it to one of Mark Archer’s tunes, you’ve no business owning feet.”

When asked to give a 15 word biography Mark replied with “I play other peoples records, I used to make more records than I do now.” As a DJ he is still very much sought after with appearances in Berlin and Norway planned prior to the Inverness gig.

Support will come from Debukas (2020vision) live set, with more acts to be announced.

Ticket details will be found on the event Facebook page.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me direct at
