There may be a plethora of events, gigs and the like going in the Inverness area, but we are not the only place. Head out to Ullapool, the home of that little fest in the west, and you will find more than your fair share of top acts doing their festive best.
Here’s what they’ve told us, only we’ve jumbled up their words a little and done a little bit of rearranging, but as long as we’ve got the dates right. We have haven’t we?
Thinking of getting away over the festive break? How about this for a line up, the “Ullapool Festive Festival” is about to swing into action. A happy accident, we think, but what a line-up!
21st – Naked Strangers at the Seaforth or a folky little Christmas at the Ceilidh Place featuring Lauren MacColl and others
22nd – It’s the Crash Banjos at the Arch Inn
28th – After a brief lull to regain your senses, we have the unmissable Grousebeater Soundsystem, at the Village Hall.
29th – Brings us another cracker with Rhythmnreel at the Arch Inn.
31st – Having had a day off to recover we head off to the Village Hall for the Hogmanay Ceilidh with Mairearad Green and Friends
1st – If you are still standing the appropriately named Mans Ruin, along with Sketch, appear at the Ceilidh Place.
3rd – The first of two Loopallu favourites, Skerryvore, appear at the Village Hall.
4rd – With hardly time to clear your head, or the village hall, Manran are back to round off the festivities.
