The New Market Bar Venue, Thurso are looking for new staff to consolidate their position as one of the “must play” venues of the North.
The Venue has live and new music at it’s heart and soul whether it’s fostering and supporting local music in the area or being the place to play when planning tours for new bands. Subsequently they are looking for staff to support them. Robbi, from the venue dropped us a line to tell us about the two posts :
Sound Engineer – We put on a lot of shows and are always building our community of Sound Engineers who can contribute evenings in the weekend to conduct sound checks and control the stage and FOH sound for some fantastic bands. A standard job will run from 6PM to 1AM. Applicants should be passionate about music, approachable and have the skill sets required to conduct a job in Live Sound.
DJ Residency – We never want to end the party and believe all good shindigs start and end with great music. To ensure this, we are looking for a DJ who can take to the stage before and after bands performances to play a mix of styles. There is the potential to expand the hours into the week and we are especially looking for someone who has all the base gear needed to lead everything from a 80’s Disco to a Dubstep blow out.
