Wickerman 2013 early bird tickets go on sale, as the 2012 festival is featured in Don’t Tell the Bride.
It’s hard to avoid the growing appreciation for the Dundrennan festival, with similarities being drawn to the nature and spirit of Belladrum. In 2012 the festival was headlined by Texas and the New York based Scissor Sisters. For those keen to venture a bit further away for their festivals, Wickerman 2013 have frozen their tickets at 2011 prices resulting in adult tickets being available for £90, tickets can be purchased here. Tickets will be available at this price till the 31st of October.
The announcement coincides with the airing tonight on BBC Three of ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ which was filmed at this year’s Wickerman Festival. Mark Loney, from Glasgow, arranged the wedding for his bride, Jill McClintock without her knowledge after she took the plunge and handed all control of the celebrations over to him (First showing on 11/09/2012 at 9pm on BBC 3).
Festival Coordinator, Helen Chalmers said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to be able to offer fans the opportunity to snap up their early bird tickets so soon after this year’s hugely successful festival. Having had global superstars Scissor Sisters and Scottish legends Texas topping the bill – plus the surprise live filming of ‘Don’t Tell The Bride’ – we’ve a hard act to follow but we’re determined to make next year’s festival even better!’
The next Wickerman Festival will take place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July 2013.
Early Bird prices are £90 for Weekend adult tickets, £45 for Weekend concession tickets, £60 for Saturday adult tickets with tickets free for under 12’s. For all those taking caravans or campervans to Wickerman a basic pitch costs £30 or £80 for a pitch including an electric hook up.
