The announcement has seen, Paul Weller endorsed, The Rifles added to the bill. Their third album, ‘Freedom Run’ was described by the NME as “good a guitar-pop set as you’ll hear all year: bright harmonies, brighter guitars, string stabs, handclaps and every classic songwriter trick in the book.” The quality continues with Guillemots described as “Multi-national, multi-instrumentalist and multi-talented” it is certainly hard to ignore the Mercury Prize and Brit nominated band and of course charismatic frontman Fyfe Dangerfield.

The Internet consists of hip hop soul duo consisting of female DJ, singer and producer Syd Tha Kyd and producer Matt Martians, with Rockness being their first visit to Scotland. Louisa Rose Allen, aka Foxes, brings the 22 year old up to the area from her home in Southampton. The singer has drawn comparisons with Ellie Goulding and Marina & the Diamonds with her sound being described as “electro pop eat your heart out. Foxes’ sound will no doubt attract many”.

Also on the bill are Stealing Sheep are an all-female Liverpool trio whose influence of 60’s psychedelic rock and pop can be clearly heard across their beautifully crafted songs and unusual instrumentation, She will be joined by  Charlotte O’Connor, her debut album ‘For Kenny’  has been described as “romantic and fun with a lot of energy” .

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
