After over 1,000 unsigned acts from across Scotland submitted demos in the hope of landing one of 16 highly coveted slots on the T Break Stage at T in the Park, Tennent’s Lager are thrilled to unveil the T Break 2012 line-up.

Tennent’s have been supporting Scotland’s grassroots music scene through T Break since 1996, providing the freshest unsigned talent in the country with the opportunity to showcase their material to fans and influential industry figures on the biggest platform for unsigned artists at T in the Park.

A judging panel of some of Scotland’s most highly respected music industry experts have listened to each demo and have hand-picked the acts which are heading to Kinross over the weekend of 6th – 8th July to join a stellar T in the Park bill which includes headliners Snow Patrol, The Stone Roses and Kasabian, plus Florence + the Machine, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Nicki Minaj and more. The 16 acts selected to play the T Break Stage at T in the Park 2012 are:

Anderson, McGinty, Webster, Ward and Fisher
Bacchanal Party
Beerjacket
Blank Canvas
Brown Bear & The Bandits
Capitals
Chris Devotion and the Expectations
Crusades
Davey Horne
Nevada Base
Open Swimmer
Randolph’s Leap
Roman Nose
TeKlo
The Machine Room
The Mirror Trap

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Tennent’s Lager said: “We’ve been incredibly impressed with the calibre of entries for T Break, and the judging panel have been faced with a tough decision to whittle the acts down to just 16. There’s evidently a wealth of talent in the Scottish grassroots music scene, and we’re very proud to be able to support this through T Break, and provide these acts with a platform to showcase their material at T in the Park.”

Dave McGeachan from T Break partners DF Concerts sits on the judging panel. He said: “Every year the judging panel looks for a diverse selection of acts which represents the very best of the Scottish unsigned scene, and the T Break 2012 line-up is exceptionally strong. I think the final 16 acts will be very well received with the T in the Park audience, and I’m really looking forward to checking out the T Break Stage over the festival weekend.”

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
