At 19 years old, Harley Alexander-Sule and Jordan Stephens are two of the most exciting teenage talents to emerge in 2011. Creating a commercial version of hip hop drawing similarities with De La Soul and a Tribe Called Quest.

Hayley explains”We¹ve slaved to find a definition of our sound because it¹s more edgy than pop but its not pure hip hop either it¹s somewhere in-between…. We used to say indie-hop but that sounds really lame!”

Kitty Empire of The Guardian acknowledged that Rizzle Kicks “deserve to be big on their own merits. They are both clever and funny and – despite tenure at the Brit school – it feels like they have clawed their way up out of leftfield with crampons” (full Guardian article)

Having released ‘Down with the Trumpets¹ as their debut single in June, the pair sold over 250,000 copies this summer, hung around in the top 10 (#8) for 4 weeks and has notched up over 4.5 million views.

The Rizzle¹s first booking was at the Underage Festival. This summer alone they¹ve sold out both The Barfly and XOYO, supported both Dizzee Rascal and The Streets at Ibiza Rocks, headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Reading/Leeds festival and performed at T4 On The Beach amongst others.

Rizzle Kicks will now  play The Ironworks on February 28th 2012.

Tickets available as a result of teh rearrangement will be made available as and when through  www.ironworksvenue.com or the box office direct.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
