Described as  the combination of Loretta Lynn playing Otis Redding songs in a garage in Seattle – in 1963, Rachel Harrington has been building quite a stir with her americana country and soul stylings, perfectly seen in her first three albums. The Irish Times agree; “Harrington’s influences are wide and timeless, from bluegrass to black gospel, from early Dylan to Lyle Lovett; there is a monochrome intensity to her songs of loves lost and things longed for, of family sorrow and private pain.”

The forthcoming UK tour will be promoting Rachel’s new album which sees her sound evolve with the addition of a full band aka Rachel Harrington and the Knock Outs.

Tickets information for Bogbain Farm and Cromarty, Old Brewery.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
