Ivan is a hugely talented and much respected singer in the Scottish Folk Music Scene.

Once a member of popular band, Wolfstone, Ivan is once more performing as a solo artist and an evening spent in his company is highly recommended.

Ivan’s latest CD, Bless The Wind was recorded in Evanton and is a beautiful offering of songs reflecting the, sometimes turbulent, past of the Highlands and Islands people. This CD was released on the back of Notes From An Island, which was written about the people and places in Ivan’s homeland of Orkney.

A night with Ivan Drever will make you laugh as he shares the humorous stories behind the inspirations of his songs, and he can quickly move you to tears with the sad and emotional songs.

Ivan, his guitar and his ability to tell a good story promises you a good night and a good laugh.

Mark it in your diary and come along to get your foot tapping, the tears flowing and let your ears hear the beautiful voice of one of Orkney’s finest sons.

This is a non-ticketed event but, as with The Medicine Show gigs, there will be an “Entry On A Pass The Hat Principle!” The suggested donation is £8 per person.

Entry to The Greenhouse is via the back door of the premises.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
