They have been rocking all over the world, and now it is, finally, their opportunity to rock Inverness! As part of Summer in the City 2012, we don’t just have Runrig on the Saturday and Jools Holland on the Sunday, but the mighty Status Quo (as announced on CK events Facebook page early this morning), on Friday 24th August to set up a phenomenal weekend.
Rock legends Status Quo have today announced that they will perform a major outdoor concert in the Scottish Highlands next summer, as part of the summer in the City Music weekend.
With many fans let down when a previous attempt to draw the Quo failed to materialise, we now have CK Events and their proven track record to be on the ball and they will deliver the goods. The band, which holds the record for more hit singles than any other band, has had more hit albums than The Beatles, and made more appearances on TOTP than any other act, will make the journey north to play to thousands of fans at the Northern Meeting Park.
The five-piece which has sold over 188 million records and had 22 top ten hits including Christmas favourite ‘It’s Christmas Time’ will perform rock classics including ‘Rockin all over the World’ as well as performances from its latest – and twenty ninth – studio album ‘Quid Pro Quo’.
Inverness is known for hosting major festivals, such as Rockness and Belladrum, and industry eventssuch as Go North (supported by CK Events last year), but CK Events has gone that extra mile byputting three days of fantastic entertainment together kicked of in fine style by Status Quo.
It’s not just the inhabitants of Inverness who are excited but as Francis Rossi said:
“We’re really excited to be performing in Inverness, Nothing beats playing live to our Scottish fans and
we will put on a great show to rock Inverness on Friday 24th August.”
These words are echoed by Kenny Cameron, director of CK Events who said:
“We’re thrilled to be welcoming rock legends Status Quo to Inverness as part of the summer in the City programme. Staus Quo are renowned for its professionalism in staging fantastic shows, so this is amust see concert.”
“Bringing the Quo to Inverness is great for music lovers but also to the Highland economy.”
