Hey boys and girls
Welcome to Rhythmnreel’s latest catch-up of what we’ve been up to during September.
It’s a funny old game. September was actually quite a quiet month for us, with no long weekends away. We managed the short trip over to North Kessock for a fundraiser for RNLI, played a wedding in Aviemore and another fundraiser in Culbokie.
We also had a right old hoot over at Loopallu where we played in the Seaforth. We were there all weekend taking in the sights and sounds. The weekend was just brilliant! Who did you see? Bombskare and the Feeling were our top moments. Anyone feel let down by the Buzzcocks? We had also hoped to be playing at another festival in Tongue but it was cancelled right at the last minute, which was shame after lots of hard work had been put in by the organisers.
So, instead of gigging, we took the chance to work on some more new material. We debuted a new song “Show of Hands” at Loopallu, it’s now getting regular gigs and seems to be going down quite well. Tunes and songs are coming thick and fast and we are looking to have the next recording session in November. We are hoping to record three or maybe four songs/tunes in November to add to the four we’ve already recorded. We will then be looking to finish it off in January with another session with a release date of spring 2012. Exciting times.
As I write, we are looking forwards to a trip to Germany tomorrow (yippee) and a St Andrews Day dance in Switzerland for some ex-pats towards the end of November. This time we have got to take in a trip to CERN, you reckon?
Thanks for reading and hopefully we will see you soon
