The Big Stooshie came to our attention after local band The Lost were announced for the event (see interview with The Lost). The festival is taking place at The Howe Country Centre, Giffordtown (near Ladybank), Fife on 4th to 6th May, 2012.

Capacity crowds are expected to attend and enjoy performances from top live bands such as The Damned, The Boomtown Rats, from The Jam, The Beat, The Complete Stone Roses, Kazabian and Tommy Reilly. In addition to some of the UK’s best known performers, The Big Stooshie will also feature some of the most popular modern artists such as The Dykeenies, Pearl and The Puppets, Dead Sea Souls, Tango In The Attic, Proud Mary and Healthy Minds Collapse as well as popular local stars; Root System, The Catch 22’s, State Of Emergency, Patrol and many more. With nearly 30 acts confirmed already, the organisers believe that they have attracted one of the strongest line-ups of any “small” Scottish festival, with many more top names still to be announced before May next year.

Key to the success of the event is the very unique venue at The Howe Country Centre, which offers a festival atmosphere but is completely undercover! With a capacity of over 4000 people at “The Arena Stage” and 1000 at the second “Tent Stage” music lovers can enjoy a festival atmosphere but with out the mud and rain which so often festival-goers have to endure due to the unpredictable Scottish weather!

Early Bird tickets are now on sale means that a 3 day weekend ticket is just £72 (normal price £90) There are limited camping places available at the discounted rate of £96 (normal price £120).

From Monday 24th October,  early bird tickets will be available from outlets throughout Scotland as well as on line at www.ticketcandy.com,  however these outlets may charge a booking fee which will not factor into the amount raised for charity.

Further information about The Big Stooshie including the complete line-up, ticket prices, availability etc will be available on www.bigstooshie.com..

The Big Stooshie, is an adult event, however over 14’s are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
