Blind Idols, have just popped up on the scene very recently. We have been very impressed with what we have heard so far so we took the opportunity to have a few words with them….

How did you guys get together?

We’re just a bunch of friends who have known each other for a long time and started playing for fun and to invent something cool.

Can you tell us a bit about where Blind Idols are at musically?

We’re experimenting with new and creative sounds in and out of the studio. We’ve got loads of new ideas bubbling away in the cauldron so hopefully they are going to surface soon!

What are the plans for the next few months?

We want to play as many gigs as possible to gain exposure and just building up a solid fan base. We’re hoping to do some more recording this month and maybe some writing as well.

If people have not heard you before, what song would you recommend that they listen to, and why?

Sweatshop Blues by Blind Idols

Definitely Sweatshop Blues… Sums up our style nicely, has some hard driving riffs which are cut up by some mellower parts. That’s a good way to describe our personalities.

Have you got anything to plug?

Well our guitarist, Vic Riz, is in a relationship but the rest of us are pretty much single.

They will be appearing at Newmarket Bar Thurso 18th Nov and Blackstairs Wick 19th November. Supporting The Frues. Inverness dates will be announced in the very near future.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
