The anticipation of this gig is clearly growing, despite SLAM having been up to Inverness several times before this is the first time the legendary UK techno duo of Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle have played the intimate surroundings of Cake.

Playing all over the world including residencies  at Pressure, Sub Club and Fabric and of course organising and playing at the Slam Tent at T in the Park since 1997.

Renowned for playing dynamic sets of stripped, grooving, techno and house, they have had a slew of releases on their own Soma and Paragraph labels,

Support will come from local DJ’s Alan MacPherson (Audiolife), Brian Mackenzie (Evolve), Steven Dell (Jazz Fink) and Andrew McGibbon (Filth)

We suspect that this will be another defining moment in the life of Cake.

SLAM comes to Cake for the first time on the 3rd of September.

Tickets are £10 see poster above for details.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
