Hi boys and girls
So now we have had July and what a month it has been for us. Summer is just about our busiest time what with the festival season and the gala dances all round the Highlands.
Since I last wrote we have had a couple of riotous gigs at Kinlochbervie Games and Applecross Games – what a great bunch of (crazy) punters at these gigs. There are some photos and footage on our Facebook page. We had a quieter gig in one of our favourite haunts up in Achiltibuie – eaten alive by midge as ever but what an outstanding setting for pretty much anything.
We also had a wee road trip to Dumfries for a slot at the Wickerman Festival, and then another of our favourite gigs at Belladrum’s “Craic It Open Ceilidh” supported by Hoodja (keep an eye out for these boys) and the Jimi Shandrix Experience. The Belladrum gig was frankly superb – Black Isle brewery tent was rammed with bodies with loads more outside. Great crowd response and loads of dancing, jumping and singing – just brilliant to be part of such a great event.
As I mentioned last month, we have some new merchandise with a new logo and summer gig dates on the back. We have been getting positive feedback and the hoodies, in particular, are flying off the shelves. Come and see Debbie at gigs and she will sort you out with your size.
Before I finish I must tell you about the exploits of the Scourie crew. These guys have been friends and followers of the band forever but this summer they have simply excelled themselves. Michael, Natalia, Adam, Laina, Becca, Lucy, Chris, Mathew and Sean have been with us every weekend for the last six, through Ironworks, KLB, Applecross, Achiltibuie, Bella and this weekend at Kyleakin. We just love these guys X.
