Belladrum 2011 13 thumb1 - Local bands grow from Seedlings to Garden Stage

Last year it was The SIde that were promoted from the Seedlings to the Main Stage, this year we have two local bands making the jump in He Slept on 57 and Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders.

invernessGiGS has a huge amount of time for Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders and the promotion to the main stage is a great acknowledgement of the huge amount of effort the band have continued to put into the scene over the last year. They missed out on our ones to watch at Belladrum 2011 and for that we should be shamed.

The other band joining them on the main stage from the seedlings is He Slept on 57, drawing comparison with Twin Atlantic and Biffy Clyro.

He Slept on 57 will open the Garden Stage on Friday August 5th at Belladrum Festival.

Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders perform on the Garden Stage on Saturday August 6th at Belladrum Festival

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
