Graham first came to our attention after successfully negotiating the first round of Live and Unsigned.  invernessGiGs took the oppurtunity to catch up with Mr Brown and find out how he is and what the future holds.

It seems like ages since we caught up with you, what have you been up to?

I have been very busy with my solo music and also my new band Midnight Glory (the other band members are Michael Kay, Drew Mackintosh, Callum Hickie
and Phil Munro). I have been in the studio Robbie Dunsmore and Gareth Ince of GRID Studio recording a song and learning to use all the equipment so I can use my studio to record my first EP. I have also been gigging away and writing a lot new material which has basically taken over everything… and I certainly cannot complain!

How did you get on at Belladrum?

Belladrum was excellent, unfortunately the HEN Free Range Folk stage wasn’t situated in the best of spots as it did not show on the map, but it did not stop people from making sure they found out where it was and the turn out was great and very well received and I am very grateful to Bob Bull for giving me the opportunity to be part of it.

We are going to get a look at your new band at the Summer Showcase, what should we be expecting?

The band is something completely different to my solo work and just as much fun! We are a five piece all from Inverness and have taken all the experience we have to put together a band that sounds tight and makes upbeat music everyone can enjoy and feel happy! Its the kind of music that can even get the Queen dancing! As I have left the instruments to the other guys I can focus on my vocal and performance and I’d say whoever came to see us is in for a great night! Along with KOBI and Little Mill of Happiness on the 18th August whoever turns up will not leave disappointed.

What are the plans for the rest of the year?

It is going to be a busy one releasing my solo EP later this year and possibly changing the whole “solo” thing bringing in some violin and percussion to hopefully produce the kind of sound that will connect with people so they feel the music. Of course seeing what Midnight Glory are capable of is one thing me and the guys cannot wait to find out. As long as I am gigging, playing music and carry on making people happy I feel I am winning!

Midnight Glory will next be seen on the 18th of August at the Ironworks Summer Showcase

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
