Jock the Reaper comes to Belladrum

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival will debut an exciting new stage at this year’s sold out Festival the unveiling of the Jock The Reaper stage.

The striking stage fashioned from a combine harvester will blend electro and celtic fusion by showcasing not only some of the best DJs in the land but introducing the most happening celtic crossover acts.

Local Heavyweight champions Filth (Ross Lyall & Alan McGibbon) will headline night Friday night with their dirty beats whilst another top Highland clubnight Audiolife (Brian Mackenzie & Alan Macpherson will headline Saturday.

On the celtic side, live performances will come from Grouse Beater Sound System returning to the Festival after their debut in 2009, Sketch the new project from Iain Copeland (formerly of The Peatbog Faeries) and Niteworks from the Isle of Skye.

Jock The Reaper will have performances from top electronic influence act We See Aliens along as other established Highland acts such Mykol Blyth, The LED and an old school set from Neil Fergusson.

A host of up & coming Inverness based DJs will perform including The Boomshake Redemption, Master Shake, Count Clockwork, Bullwhack, Mark Mackenzie, Alan Grant and Connor Bryne providing a much needed outlet at the festival for local DJs.

Outside of the Inverness area Jock The Reaper will play host to top Dundee club PHONO who will deliver a line up featuring an MC, 2 DJs, live saxophone & percussion, Quirky Central Belt clubnight Organised Noise will join the mix along with former Ballet dancer Becki Bardot (fresh from a summer playing in Ibiza), Elgin based M Stell, Fort William’s Graeme Platt and Edinburgh’s Default & Picasso.

In conjunction with Sonicbids a search was put on to find two hot live electronic crossover acts to be showcased at the festival and with many entries it was difficult decision but Jock The Reaper proudly adds Metal Tech and Fridge Magnets two exciting bands each with unique qualities that are sure to get the festival crowds fired up.

With this mix of DJs and live acts with a running electro theme Jock The Reaper is sure to be a popular addition to Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2011.
