With just days to go before Rockness 18 of the acts, chosen to play at the RockNess Sound City Stage, have been announced on the Sonicbids website here.
Local or bands who have a local bias include fresh from their adventures in Liverpool The Boosts (you can read an interview with the band here) , Little Fire, who has just recenty been announced as support for JLS when they play at Dingwall (see article here), Wick’s pop punk combo Always The Sixth (you can see a preview here) , Ullapool’s Naked Strangers and, coinciding with their new video release yesterday: Capitals.
They will be joined by an eclectic mix of acts picked from throughout the UK, including:
GoGoBot, Franco and the Dreadnought, The Draymin, Finding Albert, The River 68’s, the suzukis, we are animal, Lonely Tourist, Pistola Kicks, Luke Fenlon, Letters, Roxanne Emery and Kobi Onyame.
It’s an interesting and mixed choice, especially consider the local choices, which does not follow other events in it’s trends (eg goNORTH)
One of the bands will be showcased across the RockNess and Sound City communities and will win a support slot on a forthcoming UK Goldenvoice tour in the 12 months following the festival. The winning act will also return to perform at RockNess 2012 in the Goldenvoice Arena.
