Hot on the heels of Rockness, next festival on our agenda is Rewind Scotland, which we will be providing build up and coverage of in the next few weeks.
Frankie Boy sets the scene….
With Simple Minds, Big Country, Adam Ant, Texas and Deacon Blue all either playing, or in the case of Adam Ant having played, in the local area, there is a lot of 80s mania around. So it shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise, with all this 80s fever in the air, that if you head down the A9 at the end of July, your 80s collection can be well and truly completed as Scone Palace near Perth hosts it’s first Rewind Festival. This 80s only festival is a sister festival to its namesake at Henley, which has now into its third year.
The festival runs from 29 to 31 July with a whole host of acts plying their trade over the Saturday and Sunday. The main stage compere is nothing other than ex-Altered Images singer, Claire Grogan. She will introducing acts such as ABC, Heaven 17, The Human League and Kim Wilde, to name but a few.
So if you want to soak up a little more of the 80s atmosphere, this looks to be an ideal way to pass a long weekend in Perthshire. The campsite opens at 2.00pm on the Friday, with campsite car parks opening at midday. Although the main stage doesn’t open until Saturday those arriving on Friday can access The Silent Disco, Live Karaoke, Kids Zone, Funfair, Theme Bars, Restaurants, Food Outlets and Trade Village on the Friday from 6.00pm.
Over the next week we will be previewing the main stage acts and are setting up some interviews with a number of the acts taking part. The official site is at www.rewindfestival.com where you can get further info and you can get tickets here.
