The Boy Who Trapped the Sun (aka 25-year-old Isle of Lewis native Colin MacLeod) will be playing the Ironworks on Wednesday the 1st of December (officially announced by email 14/10). Hot off the heels of his first album release (Fireplace) and from supporting Fyfe Dangerfield,he finds himself in Inverness.

Taken from his facebook page, an interesting insight into his development:

“The Boy Who Trapped The Sun, funnily enough, is not his real name. Colin MacLeod – for it is he- was discovered swinging round the rafters of an Aberdeen bar, dishing out Deep Purple covers and, he says, “generally acting like an arse.” Having smashed his guitar and knocked himself unconscious on stage, he set to cleaning up both the broken instrument and his act. Thus The Boy moved to London; to become a solo artist and an adult.”

He was one of invernessGiGs ones to watch at Belladrum and did not dissappoint. Tickets will be on sale in the normal places on Friday.

Ps thanks for the headsup, you know who you are!!

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
