Audiolife announce..

Sometimes hype is well just hype and other times its not hype but well earned anticipation.

So it was very clear that when word came to invernessGiGs that it was Graeme Park who was coming up to join Audiolife for the 13th of November, it was obvious that it was the latter.

The story of DJ Graeme Park really mirrors the story of the evolution of dance music and club culture itself. Aside from his eight-year residency at the Hacienda he was the first British DJ to play places like Australia, South America, the USA, Asia and beyond as well as producing and remixing tracks for the dancefloor.

Graeme has been celebrating his 25th Anniversary with a series of special nights all over the UK and overseas playing a selection of classic house tunes as well as new and current tunes too. Although keen not to be bracketed as a ‘classics’ DJ, he couldn’t let the occasion of his 25th anniversary go by without delving into the thousands upon thousands of tunes he has collected on vinyl over the years:‘House music has made people channel their tastes, so I went back to my roots and pulled out some forgotten classics,’ he grins, still in love with process of mining those rich seams of vinyl.

Support for this night comes from none other than Audiolife’s Alan MacPherson + Brian Mackenzie

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
