Caithness finest to play Upstairs, Inverness on the 25th of April 2024.
Straight out of the rugged landscapes of northern Scotland, Neon Waltz emerges as a beacon of indie brilliance. This quartet’s music echoes with the resonance of their ’60s influences, capturing the essence of their predecessors while forging their own unique path.
Their journey began in the secluded reaches of Caithness back in 2013, where they meticulously crafted their signature sound within the walls of a humble cottage. Local gigs and demo recordings soon caught the attention of industry heavyweight Marcus Russell, formerly of Oasis fame.
In 2017, Neon Waltz unleashed their debut album, ‘Strange Hymns’, upon the world to widespread critical acclaim. This was just the beginning of their ascent. Following up with the well-received EPs ‘Bring Me To Light’ and ‘Huna’, the band embarked on a whirlwind tour across the UK ,earning slots alongside luminaries like Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Coral, and DMA’S.
2023 saw the release of the band’s second full length LP ‘Honey Now’, which was recorded at Freswick Castle in collaboration with Tarek Musa (Spring King) and the legendary Edwyn Collins. When The Horn Blows described the album; “Exploring themes of alienation and the ways to overcome the feeling of being different and disconnected from those around you, its a stunning reintroduction for fans of the first album to the band as they are now.”
