Alkanes Hit Back

Alt Rock duo Alkanes (aka Dale Sutherland and Connor Meeks) are all set to celebrate the release of their brand new EP, ‘This Is It’, with a tour across Scotland. The tour will kick off with a special launch show at The Tooth & Claw in Inverness, followed by two more shows in Scotland.

After an understandably quiet three years, Alkanes hit the studio to record their new four-track EP. ‘Artefact’, the latest single from the EP, is a thunderous opener that bridges the gap perfectly from previous releases ‘Death or Glory’ and ‘Make It Right’ into the new era. A1NSL3Y HARR10TT (Stealing Sleep), the second track, emphasises the diversity of Dale’s vocals whilst showing their prog / alternative influences.

‘Neverlution’, driven by big riffs and a thumping rhythm section, reflects the frustration at the political landscape in recent years. The EP’s closing track, ‘Persistence To Existence II’, sees a more mature approach to the performance of the song, despite it originally being written nearly 10 years.

The EP was produced by Steve Bull and mastered by Acle Kahney from Prog-Metal heavyweights TesseracT, ‘This Is It’ is unleashed across all major streaming platforms on May 5th.

Immediately it was obvious that these boys were absolutely going to crush it this evening, with opener “Sixes & Sevens” making a loud and proud statement that ALKANES were going nowhere.
