Gigs to celebrate Hogmanay in Inverness 2017/18

To some it’s been the best of years and other the worst, wether it’s to celebrate the new year or the old, we can all agree that it’s worthy of a party. We look at the eclectic entertainment on offer in Inverness for New Year’s Eve 2017/18.

Hogmanay at Beaufort Hotel

Spring Break to play the Beaufort Hotel at Hogmanay 2017

If you are looking for a party at New Year with a leaning towards local contemporary music, then you will be hard pushed to see past the Beaufort Hotel. Headliners Spring Break pride themselves on their own brand of accessable, fun hip-hop with tunes such as ‘Dolphin Puncher’ and ‘The Slouch’.  We are certainly fans and for parties, festivals and for Hogmanay celebration, just ideal.

Also on the bill is Joshua Mackenzie, frontman for Lional and Sara Bills and Colin Cummings of The Hasbeens.

Ticket details can be found on the event page.

TWEED at the Raigmore Motel

Having played throughout the UK and Europe, their hearts are very certainly with traditional ceilidh music but a splattering of funk, ska and toe-tapping beats and anything in between are promised. Tweed have built up a reputation over the years and a family friendly indoor ceilidh in a venue renowned for it’s hospitality, certainly gets the thumbs up from us.

Rhythmnreel’s Hogmanay Bash

It’s perhaps unsurprising that Ironworks snapped up Rhythmnreel to play at Hogmanay for the third year in a row after the success of previous year’s celebrations. Led by Andy Murray, the band know how to lead a party, drawing from Celtic rock to traditional ceilidh tunes, via a Paolo Nutini or Rod Stewart cover or two or three…

Red Hot Highland Fling 2017/18

Ok let’s get this straight standing in the middle of park in Winter in Inverness is never (ever) going to be “Red Hot”, but the organisers are always keen to guarantee a bit of a fling. Charged with warming up proceedings this year are Skerryvore Hò-rò and Skippinish.

The party starts at Northern Meeting Park at 2030, wrap up warmer, infact warmer than that. Full details of the acts can be found here.
