You Me At Six to play Inverness in October.
Formed in 2004 the Surrey based band who have drawn similarities to Biffy Clyro, Bullet for My Valentine and My Chemical Romance. The band’s brand pop/punk rock infused anthemic fist pumping tunes was heralded by debut album ‘Take Off Your Colours’ in 2008.
Album number four ‘Cavalier Youth’ saw the band boldly state “We are carrying the flag for British rock music. None of this boy band with guitar rubbish.” The well received LP earned them number one status in the album charts on it’s release. A new album is certainly on the cards, and whilst they have been recording it, other details are limited at the moment
Tracks such as ‘Lover Boy’, ‘Underdog’, ‘Liquid Confidence’ and the Fifa 14 soundtracked ‘Lived a Lie’ (check out a slower paced but no less likeable version,below) have cemented the band’s reputation, and clearly acknowledged that they are more than a boy band with guitars.
The announcement of the return to live gigs was heralded on the band’s Facebook page;
“18 months ago was the last time we played for you and we have been locked away making an album that we think is our best yet. We wanted to organise a tour that would visit places we haven’t been in years and some we’ve never played before.
Over the past 10 years there has been so many special moments, and we can’t wait to play up close and personal with you again – These will be some of the smallest shows we’ve played in the UK in forever.
We’ve missed you, let’s do this! We’re back and we’re back for good.”
The 15 date October tour sees Inverness as the only Scotland date , given the band’s fanbase, expect it to get busy…
You Me At Six, with support from VANT, play the Ironworks, Inverness on October the 17th, 2016.
Tickets available here (from the 24th of August 9 am).
